Hiking in Aletsch

Autumn Hike above the Aletsch Glacier 🏔️

Join us for an autumn day above the largest glacier in the Alps! 🧊

We’ll take the train and cable car up to the car-free village of Bettmeralp and have a packed lunch by the Bettmersee lake 🚡🍂

Afterwards, we’ll hike a loop of about 10 km with views over the Great Aletsch Glacier, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the 4,000 m peaks of Valais 🏔️🍂

📍 Meeting Point: Migros Flower Shop Basel SBB

⏰ Meeting time: 7:30 AM

💰 Prices:

Erasmus students with ESNcard: 11 CHF

Erasmus students without ESNcard: 13 CHF

Others: 15 CHF

🎟️ Tickets include:

Round-trip transportation from Basel, including the cable car to Bettmeralp. 🚆 If you have a GA and want to join, contact us on Telegram.

⚠️ Important: This is a demanding hike of about 10 km with around 700 metres of elevation gain, reaching about 2,500 m. Please wear proper hiking shoes with good grip and bring warm clothes (jacket, hat and gloves), as it can be cold and there may be snow at the top. Bring a packed lunch and enough water. 🥾🧤
